This Resolution Guide is designed to help you choose the best wallpaper size for your screens. Picmaze provides high-fidelity, high-definition wallpapers custom-optimized to scale perfectly across modern smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktop monitors.

01. What is Resolution?

Resolution represents the total density of physical pixels contained in an image, measured as Width × Height. More pixels mean sharper details, vibrant colors, and cleaner lines, especially on modern high-DPI (Retina/OLED) panels. Using low-resolution graphics on high-end screens results in blurry stretching and visible pixelation.

02. Standard Resolution Tiers

Picmaze maintains strict quality control, categorizing wallpapers into standard structural classes:

03. Recommended Device Sizes

04. Portrait vs. Landscape Formats

05. Safety Zones & System Overlays

A great wallpaper should keep key design details visible without cluttering your system interface:

• Notch & Camera Punch-hole: Modern smartphones use cutouts at the top. The upper 10% of our mobile designs contains clean gradients or dark areas to keep status bar icons readable.
• Lock Screen Widgets: Mobile lock screens display clock widgets. Picmaze layouts position main focal points centrally or in the lower third area to prevent text overlapping.
• Desktop Icons: The left side of desktop screens is generally used for shortcuts. We offer clean, uncluttered side space options for productive desktop layouts.

06. Picmaze Image Standards

Our servers automatically optimize file sizes, serving compressed formats without compromising details. This ensures quick loading, preserving storage, while keeping resolutions sharp and clean.
